Does This Even Matter to God?

Have you ever found yourself wondering if your daily worries—your concerns, your to-do list stress, even your bad hair days—really matter to God?
Be honest.
Sometimes it feels hard to pray when the world is unraveling at the seams. With war, division, economic uncertainty, and heartbreaking stories scrolling across our screens, our personal concerns can feel… trivial. Almost selfish.
I’ve been there too.
I’ve caught myself holding back from prayer because I thought, “There are people going through so much more. Why should I bother God with this?”

But here’s the truth: those doubts are not from God.
They are subtle lies meant to keep us distant from the One who loves us most.
Scripture tells us that “the Lord is near to all who call on Him” (Psalm 145:18), and James 4:8 reminds us, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
He wants us to come.
Not just with the big, soul-shaking concerns—but with everything.
Because a relationship with God isn’t reserved for the dramatic moments of life. It’s meant to walk with us through the everyday.
Yes, He sees the brokenness of the world. Yes, He weeps with those who mourn. And still—He sees you.
He sees your anxious heart.
He hears your sigh when you forget the eggs at the grocery store.
He notices the heaviness you feel when you’re carrying everyone else’s burdens but neglecting your own.
And He cares.
Jesus says in Matthew 11:28–30:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest… for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
How do we receive that rest?
By coming to Him honestly.
By releasing what we’re holding.
By trusting that our daily needs, however small they may seem, are not overlooked by the Creator of the universe.
He’s the One who knows how many hairs are on your head (Luke 12:7).
Nothing about you is insignificant to Him.
So the next time you wonder, “Does this even matter to God?”
Remember—if it matters to you, it matters to Him.
Come close.
He’s already near.
